Aim beyond pure legal knowledge. Beyond commercial advice. Be known for something more: clarity of thought and an instinct for problem solving that can influence leading businesses and organisations the world over.
Easy? Hardly. Our ambition as a firm means we need people with a rare kind of mindset: an openness to the way you work, agility to the way you think, and a strong desire to keep evolving as a professional.
Join us and we’ll help you enrich and expand your worldview, grow your skills and influence new ways of thinking. In other words, we’ll help you move minds.
Let’s start by moving yours.
The different cultures, communities and countries within which we operate around the world are immensely varied. The way we actually interact with each other isn’t. The simple fact is: people here like working with each other. We help and challenge each other to develop our thinking and deliver our best work. In every office, you’ll find different perspectives, backgrounds, cultures and personalities to learn from. Explore a few of them here.

Variety of experience is essential in developing the kind of expertise that will set you apart. At Ashurst, you won’t just be learning from the past or from specifics. You will also be developing the instincts to tackle the most complex issues in international law, and building an understanding of each client's business.
The ways in which we support you to do this are equally varied. Structured training helps you develop the highest standards of technical legal knowledge. Honest, transparent conversations ensure you know exactly what we expect from you. Useful, constructive feedback helps you learn. And a network of highly respected figures will not only inspire you, they will actively mentor your development.
Right from the start, I felt I was a key part of major deals. People were willing to listen to me, to delegate responsibility to me, and to include me in calls and client meetings. I learned to manage my time and the pressure, and I was part of the celebrations when the deal closed.View more profiles
Last year, I undertook an internship at Ashurst as a graduate in Law as part of my LLM qualification programme. After the internship, I was given the opportunity to become a trainee. Ashurst offers the chance to sit in different practice areas both during internships and as a trainee and, because I hadn’t decided what area of law I wanted to specialise in, that made the firm the top choice for me.View more profiles
I think a major difference between Ashurst and other law firms is that you get more responsibility here sooner. Since I started working at Ashurst as a trainee I've had the luck of being involved in significant transactions at an international level, researching and preparing documents, and keeping the partners up to date with developments. Another plus is that the firm has no rigid hierarchies – the fact trainees and junior associates work hand-in-hand with, and learn directly from, partners and senior lawyers. They’re always happy to make time for you and they’re keen to hear to your point of view. That kind of interaction really helps to learn fast and boosts your development.
Ashurst offers a unique training programme giving you the opportunity to work in the various areas of practice before you decide to specialise in one specific legal area, which allows you to build relationship with all of your colleagues from the beginning and contributes to a more global view of the transactions that are carried out in the office. Also, the diversity of deals in which the firm is involved prevents work from being monotonous, facilitates continuous learning and gives you the chance to work with colleagues from the different areas across the firm.
The best part of Ashurst is the great working environment and the quality of people that make up the firm, who in addition to being excellent professionals are great colleagues and even friends. Ashurst maintains an open door policy and that makes you feel comfortable to ask others, who are always ready to help and answer any queries.View more profiles

We believe in focusing on the individual so we don't run assessment centres. If you’re invited to participate in our selection process, you will have two face-to-face interviews with different people (including the HR team, lawyers and partners). The interviews will be conducted partly in Spanish and partly in English. In those interviews, we will discuss your CV and assess your technical knowledge and communication skills. The interviews will also test the behaviours we’re looking for through both competency and scenario-based questions.
