Move Your Mind

Aim beyond pure legal knowledge. Beyond commercial advice. Be known for something more: clarity of thought and an instinct for problem solving that can influence leading businesses and organisations the world over.

Easy? Hardly. Our ambition as a firm means we need people with a rare kind of mindset: an openness to the way you work, agility to the way you think, and a strong desire to keep evolving as a professional.

Join us and we’ll help you enrich and expand your worldview, grow your skills and influence new ways of thinking. In other words, we’ll help you move minds.

Let’s start by moving yours.

How we work together

The different cultures, communities and countries within which we operate around the world are immensely varied. The way we actually interact with each other isn’t. The simple fact is: people here like working with each other. We help and challenge each other to develop our thinking and deliver our best work. In every office, you’ll find different perspectives, backgrounds, cultures and personalities to learn from. Explore a few of them here.

The ways in which we support you to do this are equally varied. The firm's structured aQ training helps you develop the highest standards of technical legal expertise, industry know-how and business and legal skills. Honest, transparent conversations ensure you know exactly what we expect from you. Useful, constructive feedback helps you learn. And a network of highly respected figures will not only inspire you, they will actively mentor your development.

  • Online application form

Apply by addressing your application form to the Graduate Program Consultant for the Ashurst office want to work in. What you say in your application is up to you: but be sure to express your personality and tell us why you want to be a commercial lawyer – and why you’d like to join Ashurst in particular.

Make sure you read the apply page on this site.  It contains lots of helpful information about how to make a great application.  Once you're ready to start typing, hit the apply button on either the homepage or the apply page, and begin.

  • The interview

We believe in focusing on the individual so we don't run assessment centres. If we invite you to an interview, you’ll have the chance to attend an open evening to meet partners and lawyers and move your mind further about what a career at Ashurst can look like.

During your interview, we’ll use both competency and scenario-based questions to find out if you have the behaviors we look for.
